From December 27 – 29 2017, we held the 7th edition of the IHS camp in the ancient city of Ibadan, Nigeria. Check out this video that provides lovely highlights of the amazing time we had over the course of three days.
At this year’s camp, we had folks who came in from Nigerian cities – Abuja, Kano, Jos, Zaria, Ilorin, Lagos, Ogbomosho and Ibadan. We also had those who attended from Pretoria, South Africa. There were 38 participants in all. Here are some pictures from our urban-casual photoshoot session:
The 2017 camp had two squads: Priests and Royals and there were a number of inter-squad battles that went down. Let’s just say that we all are a royal priesthood… 🙂
When we asked some of the participants what their biggest take-aways from camp were, here are their responses:
Mary-Jane Egwunyenga: I had a beautiful time at the IHS Camp 2017. I met amazing people and went home with profound wisdom. What stood out for me the most was the session with Pastor Yele. I learnt that we have to be deliberate about our spiritual growth. This is the time to get close to God. Spend quality time in God’s presence. It is not the time for one-minute prayers. Get the Word into you. Memorize scriptures. Get it into you and in the time of need, it readily comes forth.
Michael Pinmo: it was remarkable seeing different people with great minds come together with one common passion, hunger and drive for the Word. They were burning for the Word of God just like the disciples in Luke 24:32. One thing that stuck out for me was to strive to grow in His Word (1 Peter 2:2) and to make God the center of my life
Timileyin Ojo: every session at IHS Camp 2017 was excellent, back to back. I was looking forward to the next session after each session. However, the session where we had the panelists talk about the exceptional things they were doing was most outstanding, and this is because the panelists were not strangers. They were people you’ve played games with, shared rooms with etc. So it wasn’t highfalutin listening to their achievements. They really inspired me.
We want to specially thank Folakemi (Mighty) Arowolo and Pastor Yele (Olabisi Adebiyi) for blessing us through the Word. At the end of camp, we received direction for 2018 which is to focus on being #TheTribe that reflects our Father, spreads godly influence, wins souls and is known for excellent things.
Many thanks to all who made one form of contribution or the other towards the success of the 2017 camp. May God bless you super-abundantly.
We are already counting down to the 2018 camp and we hope you’ll be joining us for another amazing time!
